DOVAfrica or Developing Opportunities for the Vulnerable in Africa, is a capacity building Non Governmental Organization. DOVAfrica is currently in full operation in Rivers State, Nigeria and is beginning an operation in Liberia.

The People behind DOVAfrica are experienced African professionals in the Diaspora and in Africa. These professionals span 3 generations; and have first hand experience with the issues that confront the vulnerable in Africa and they have vast experience in the Public, Private and Voluntary sector.

DOVAfrica believes that when given the opportunity, the vulnerable will realize their potential.

DOVAfrica seeks to engage the vulnerable in Africa, in an attempt to assist them in acquiring the necessary skills and resources to sustain their own social and economic progress.

DOVAfrica liaises with other Non Governmental Organizations in Africa and in the Diaspora in achieving its goal of building the capacity of the vulnerable in Africa.

DOVAfrica’s projects include Educational , Environmental, Heath and Information Technology Projects.

DOVAfrica believes that the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ranging from eradicating extreme poverty and hunger to ensuring environmental sustainability can be achieved in most of Africa by building bridges with the vulnerable in Africa via empowering them to achieve their futures.
As the UN secretary general stated,

"We will have time to reach the Millennium Development Goals – worldwide and in most, or even all, individual countries – but only if we break with business as usual. We cannot win overnight. Success will require sustained action across the entire decade between now and the deadline. It takes time to train the teachers, nurses and engineers; to build the roads, schools and hospitals; to grow the small and large businesses able to create the jobs and income needed. So we must start now. And we must more than double global development assistance over the next few years. Nothing less will help to achieve the Goals."- United Nations Secretary-General

DOVAfrica believes that all can play a part in assisting the vulnerable in meeting these goals.
